1.3Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.14, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.14, is amended by adding a
1.6subdivision to read:
1.7    Subd. 2a. Increased speed limit when passing. Notwithstanding subdivision 2, the
1.8speed limit is increased by ten miles per hour over the posted speed limit when the driver:
1.9(1) is on a two-lane highway having one lane for each direction of travel;
1.10(2) is on a highway with a posted speed limit that is equal to or higher than 55
1.11miles per hour;
1.12(3) is overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction
1.13of travel; and
1.14(4) meets the requirements in section 169.18.
