                                                                        FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Health and Senior Services each assume the proposal would have no fiscal impact on their respective agencies.

Officials from the Department of Social Services assume that hospitals are already implementing these procedures as part of their infection control program and would not incur additional costs that would be passed to the Division. Therefore this proposal will not have a fiscal impact to the MO HealthNet Division.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

Reporting requirements apply to private medical care providers and schools. It is possible that small hospitals could incur costs related to establishing a MRSA control program. DHSS estimates that no more than five hospitals fall within the small business designation of less than 100 employees.

FISCAL DESCRIPTION

The proposed legislation appears to have no fiscal impact.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
