HB 2190 -- Sales Tax on Food

Beginning January 1, 2009, this bill phases out the state sales
and use tax on the purchase of food over a six-year period and
replaces the revenue with a sales tax on the purchase of beer,
wine, and liquor.

Beginning January 1, 2014, retail sales of food will not be
subject to the one-eighth of 1% conservation sales tax and the
one-tenth of 1% parks and soils sales tax.
