1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to gambling; pari-mutuel horse racing; providing for occupational
1.3licenses;amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 240.08, by adding a
1.4subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 240.08, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8    Subd. 2a. Certain occupational licenses. The commission may issue a license to
1.9an applicant otherwise disqualified pursuant to subdivision 2, clause (b), for an occupation
1.10that does not involve gaming operations, security, surveillance, or the handling of
1.11pari-mutuel or card club revenues provided that the applicant has not been convicted of a
1.12felony or a crime involving fraud or misrepresentation within ten years of application,
1.13has never been convicted of a gambling-related offense, does not have a felony charge
1.14pending, has been discharged from any supervision related to the disqualifying offense for
1.15a period of at least five years, and is not required to register pursuant to section 243.166.
